Bind me - I still can sing -

Banish - my mandolin

Strikes true within -

Slay - and my soul shall rise

Chanting to Paradise -

Still thine.

Emily Dickinson #1005 (TJ)

Reflection,

As an artist it is easy to feel “Binded”, stuck in a world that favors commerce and money to art and life. We are binded through spending time at a job to pay for things, binded in responsibilities of life with family and friends, a diagnosis, and countless other obligations.

You can take away “my mandolin” or art supplies, you can “Slay” me or take away my breast, hit me with whatever you’ve got, you cannot stop me from creating, because the art lives inside my soul, and creating art is my paradise!
